I don't get this either. And what's with the people who knew someone with x type of cancer and immediately start in with the stories about how so and so died when someone is diagnosed with it? My dad, my aunt and my grandmother all died of a lung cancer. Another relative has been diagnosed with it. When his sister told me the news, I just asked how the prognosis was and noted there had been a lot of advances in treatment since the other relatives died and I hoped his treatment would go well and be successful. They both know or know of all of the people we lost to lung cancer, no need to dredge it up.
